Max Weber on Law in Economy and Society
THE Max Weber volume was the first scheduled for publication in the 20th Century Legal Philosophy Series.' Its completion turned out to present formidable difficulties and to require many years of work.
As a speaker, Weber was easy to understand and to listen to. In his lectures the right word would come to him naturally. The glow of his passionate zeal to discover the truth and awaken the active coöperation of his hearers gave vividness and color to his presentation, which was underscored at appropriate places by the easily found and perfectly formulated bon môt or by some witty sarcasm.
